Havasu Canyon

Havasu Canyon is a delight for swimmers and photographers. Spring-fed Havasu Creek contains high amounts of minerals that precipitate, forming travertine basins or pools that reflect the sky. Gorgeous waterfalls tumble over the reddish cliffs into turquoise pools, where the water remains about 70°F year-round. The series of waterfalls begins at the campground and continues four miles along Havasu Creek: Havasu Falls, Mooney Falls, and Beaver Falls. (A 2008 flood reshaped Navajo Falls into two smaller falls.) The creek joins the Colorado River about eight miles beyond the campground.
